It is clear to me that the idea of a single global currency is an excellent ideal to work towards. There can be no doubt that trade and travel would be vastly easier. On the other hand I believe that it would cause problems today.

The benefits of a single currency can be seen with the use in Europe of the Euro. Whenever you are travelling between countries using the Euro, the problems of currency changing and exchange rates are history. Similarly business between countries using the Euros is so much easier; no more worrying about exchange rate risk and pricing. Everyone‛s money is the same. The same thing is true with the US dollar. Most countries do not use the US dollar but it is accepted in many places. There are many countries that you can travel to and just take US dollars to use.

At present though a global currency would be impossible. Firstly most countries would not accept the idea. Secondly all countries are in different economic states. Some are economically very strong and some are in a state of collapse with inflation ruining the economy. Such countries could not be brought into a world currency as it would cause massive financial instability worldwide. So it is clear that a global currency would indeed cause some serious problems.

So, in conclusion I see a global currency as a future ideal but it will not happen in my lifetime. It would make trade and travel much easier but the problems it would cause nowadays would be insurmountable.

portfolio Task 5

The line graph below shows the number of annual visits to Australia by overseas residents. The table below gives information on the country of origin where the visitors came from.

On overall, the number of visits to Australia grew quite steady through these years. According to the chart, in 1975, there were just nearly 10 millions visits. However, just ten years after, this figure became 15 million. The number of visits to Australia grew to double in the early 1990s with 20 million visits. In 2005, Australia even became more attractive and hit the record when more than 30 million oversea residents visited this country.

Meanwhile, the table shows the country of origin that the visitors came from. In 1978, Japanese seemed to visit Australia the most with 3.2 millions (out of 8.8 million in total) and followed by Korean with 2.9 millions. Chinese and American were among the minority since only 0.3 millions and 0.4 million of them visited Australia respectively. In 2005, the similar story happened when we witnessed that Japanese still occupied the top of visits to Australia with 12.0 million visitors, Korea on the second place with 9.1 millions. Chinese still did not prefer Australia as their destiny when only 0.8 million Chinese came to this country.

Portfolio task4

Some people think that a sense of competition in children should be encouraged. Others believe that children who are taught to co-operate rather than compete become more useful adults.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
My Essay:
It is believe that all children are born with equal capabilities but their way of learning and how they are taught makes difference in the end. Children's having competitive skills is a good aspect but they must know how to co-operate.
These skills mostly depend upon their initial training either by their parents or in the school. Children possessing only competitive skill make them a good learner. Most of the time they are very ambitious about two thing, one is academics and other is their career, they try to be excellent in them in many ways. Every time they win, it makes them more confident and energetic to work hard. Competitively also make them to be creative, but if it's not guided properly then it has reversal effect on children. They will lack confidence, always have feared to lose, very selfish and will not be able to play their role in community properly.
On the other hand, being co-operative is much more fun. Co-operative means share, people who have this skill are good organizer and play a vital role as a team player. On lot of occasions they can overcome their weakness by collaborating with others. They definitely reach their goal as teamwork.
To conclude, any of these abilities are created for a purpose. Children must be set free to create their own abilities according to their potential but they must be taught to have balance between competitiveness and co-operation.

task 3

Mobil Phone use while driving is common, but dangerous. Due to the number of accidents that are related to cell phone use while driving, some rules have made the use of a cell phone while driving illegal.
First, I think there is no advantage for using a mobile so the first disadvantage is people will not take care about the other car. For example they can’t see the other cars and may cause accidents. Another disadvantage is they may not see people who walk in the road. Tests by scientists at the Transport Research Laboratory said drivers on mobiles had slower reaction times and stopping times than those under the influence of alcohol. The problem is you actually get sucked into the telephone conversation, and the conversation starts to take precedence over the driving task.
Secondly, the person on the end of the phone doesn't know the driving conditions around you. If someone's in the car talking to you they can stop talking if a dangerous situation arises. People just don't seem to understand how distracting these telephone conversations are.
In conclusion, I think sometimes people have to use mobile, but I think they also should use the headset to take care of the road.

using a mobile a driving at the same time

Nowadays many people derive without any care for other people. They drive and use mobile phones or text a message to other persons. Today I will write if I agree or not about people who are using a mobile a driving at the same time.
I agree if they have something important which can help them or send same important message to other people, but they must take care and respect the other people who will be on same road and it will better for them if they park their car. Take your time and keep other people safe.
I disagree if they talk for a long time and write or chat or send messages with other people, because driver will just take care about his mobile and he will forget who is driving near him or walking.
In conclusion I can say the government should add same strong laws to stop people using the mobile when they drive and keep all drivers safe.

portfolio task 2

These days many people like to study to get a nice job and some like to study in different places. The charts below show the main reasons for study for many students of different age groups and the amount of support they received from employers in the UK.

For those under 26 the career was the main reason, it was 80% but for interest it was the lowest level at 10% only, for those over 49 study for career was the lowest level 18%, and for interest it was 70%. For employers support under 26 was the highest level, it was 63%, but the lowest level was 32% in the 30-39 age group.

To conclude when students get older they study more for interest not for career.
